An advance directive is a very important document. It appoints someone you trust to make health care decisions for you if you are unable to. It also guides them by allowing you to make choices about life support and tube feeding.
The Oregon legislature passed new laws for the Advance Directive that went into effect this month. The new advance directive has much of the same information but in a far less confusing manner. The new forms better describe the ideas behind each decision and also allow a single notary signature instead of two witnesses which can be much easier for some people.
